Terms of Service

Last updated: July 29, 2026
Template — not legal advice. This is a starting point that should still be reviewed and finalized by a lawyer before you rely on it, especially because Between handles health-related information and takes payments.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Between ("Between", "we", "us"), operated by Jack Hazan. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Between is — and isn't

Between is a between-session check-in tool for therapy. It lets patients send brief text or voice notes and, with consent, provides AI-generated summaries and trends to help them and their clinicians.

Between is not a medical, emergency, or crisis service. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional care or emergency services. If you are in danger or thinking about suicide, contact 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or your local emergency number immediately. Notifications and summaries are provided on a best-effort basis and may be delayed or unavailable.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your login secure. Clinician accounts are for licensed professionals using Between with their own patients; you are responsible for confirming you may lawfully use the service in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for activity under your account.

3. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, including: using it for anyone without appropriate consent; uploading unlawful content; attempting to breach security or access others' data; or using it in a way that violates applicable professional, privacy, or health regulations.

5. Your content and consent

Patients own the content they submit. AI analysis is off by default and only runs with the patient's explicit opt-in consent. You are responsible for obtaining any consents required for your use (for clinicians, from your patients).

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jack Hazan is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for reliance on summaries, trends, or notifications. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Termination

You may stop using Between at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or as required by law. You can request deletion of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date; continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Quebec, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
